I love Emelie Lidehäll Öberg. Lets just make that much clear right away. And it makes me so happy that she has a new book, Sagor och Sägner. Not only is it awesome, it’s hardback this time, just like Hanna’s books. Lets take a look, shall we!

This is Emelie Lidehäll Öberg’s second full coloring book, she also has a few postcard books. I loved her work right off the bat, I think it looks refreshing and different, sort of fairytale-y and beautifully stress-free, you don’t have to be hyper realistic when coloring these images. This book is no exception. And I honestly can say I had high expectations when opening it but it surprised me in a very positive way by being even more awesome then I hoped. She’s definitely getting better and better. No pressure there, Emelie.
The paper is the same goodness as Hanna’s books get, thick and gorgeous, takes a bit of water and loves pencils. I wish all coloring books would have this paper. There’d be no wars in this world.
As you can see in the flip through, the images range from flora to fauna to people. I again am partial to girls and this book gives me plenty of images I really want to start with right now. I love the dreamy quality of them and again, the freedom of not having to be perfect. They are child-like but not childish. I wish my childhood would have been filled with books with illustrations like this.
Overall, it’s a beautiful book and I would absolutely recommend it! I’m not buying books en masse lately, actually I buy them quite rarely but this one I’d buy three of. That’s how much I like it. And yes, we’ll do a color along from this book as well!
